Media Effectiveness

Science World

Science World is known for their quirky advertisements in Vancouver, Canada. Anywhere from billboards to buses, random placements such as their ad stating tigers will use litter boxes out in the middle of the sidewalk.
The reason for the success of their advertisement strategy is they present the fact in a different way and make it over the top so people take notice. Who wouldn't notice a billboard that says "Diamonds aren't all that rare."? On top of that, the billboard is covered in diamonds.
The assets they use include: the physical billboard, people, even so far as a scale in an elevator to prove that you weigh less going down in an elevator. The last is their logo that stands out with a great slogan, "Science World: We Can Explain".

Viral Video Effectiveness

Part of what makes a video go viral is the random one time event thing that someone happens to catch on video. If you miss it, it will never happen again. The other side is catching an unrecognizable individual displaying an amazing talent in private or public place. The last is already have millions of loyal followers that will always watch your videos as in the likes of Pewdiepie, Markiplier, or Jacksepticeye. These few YouTubers videos almost always get in the range of a million views or more because they have built a loyal community of followers.
According to Forbes' website there are six pieces of advice to help your video go viral: Be short and sweet, Be Upbeat, Be Timely (Current events), Be Involved with your audience, Be Informative (Teach something new), and Be Inspiring.

Podcasts and Brands

Podcasts can help different brands in many ways, especially if they are already well known. You've got your loyal community of followers that follow you on social media and YouTube. They obviously want to hear what you have to say.
Podcasts started making a huge jump in 2015 and 2016. If you look at the number of consumers back then, they have grown by 23%. If you go back all the way to 2013 they have grown by a whopping 75%.
Now that I've established that podcasts are on the rise, the use of this media outlet is quite versatile and a different kind of useful. For one, speaking is faster than writing. Here in 2019 in the USA we are always on the go, many don't have time to sit down and read anything so that's where podcasts come in. You can reach today's on-the-go audience. They can be headed to work or just meeting up with some friends and they can listen to your podcast on their way there.
Finally we can see how the podcast can help grow your brand or business. First off, they give you the opportunity to position yourself as the expert. Second, they establish trust between you and your audience and gives you yet another opportunity to have some exposure for that new project you're working on and build some hype. The last thing is you can market to this loyal community of listeners and then turn it into a blog post.
