Logo Breakdowns

Logo Breakdown

This is where you will find breakdown of existing company logos. I did not design the logos. I am just breaking them down.

Amazon

Logo Description

The Amazon logo is deceptive. It seems very simple but on closer inspection you can see some very well hidden details. From further out you can see the blocky font used to spell out the company name and a bold yellow line. When you take a closer look however you can see the yellow line is actually a smile and the smile goes from the "A" in Amazon to the "Z". If you look close at the two letters you can see at the bottom of the letter it is mirrored to the yellow smile. The name of the company is in a dark black that stands out against the usual white background. Going back to the smile we can bring out the meaning behind it. They wanted to convey a large stock of products and you will be happy from A to Z. The mirrored curve of the letters place even more emphasis on this.

Lowe's

Logo Description

The first thing that stands out in Lowe's logo is the house enclosing the company name and in a very vibrant blue thus cementing their brand as dependable and that they have got you covered. This theme fits in with their target audience of DIY'ers and becomes more enforced with their newest slogan of "Do it right for less. Start with Lowe's". The company name being in a white blocky font matches the blocky style of the house that surrounds it. The message being they are a dependable and trustworthy company for all the DIY customers out there.

Pepsi Logo

Brand Explanation

The Pepsi logo in recent years gone through drastic changes and revisions. It wasn't always like this. In it's beginnings it was a swirling mess and hardly legible. It's only change from 1898 to 1940 was that it slowly lost the swirl and slowly evolved into the color scheme we see today. There's a website that claims the modern color scheme came from World War 2 where Pepsi-Cola was showing support for American Troops. https://www.factpros.com/meaning-pepsi-logo-shapes-colors-symbolize/ For today's design of the circular design to me looks like a person tilting their head back to take a drink with the red being the top, the white being the drink, and the blue being the chin and such. We can also say they chose the circular design to say they're a global brand. They keep the circular design in the font that says "Pepsi". Lastly I noticed the type is all in lower case to call attention to the logo itself.
